NEW recruit Rodrigo Riquelme said Cherries was “the right move for me” having put pen-to-paper on a loan deal from Atletico Madrid.

The 20-year-old winger has agreed season-long terms with the Dorset club for the 2020-21 campaign, with an option to buy next summer.

Spanish youngster Riquelme, who played twice for Atletico Madrid’s senior side last season, has been a regular in the B team at Atleti.

He had been training with fellow Championship club Reading, before agreeing a deal to link up with the Dorset club.

“I am very happy to be here,” Riquelme told afcbTV.

“Bournemouth is a very good club and this was the right move for me.

“I came here to improve myself and to help the team get back to the Premier League, which is where this club should be.

“I am excited to get started.”

Riquelme could be involved when Jason Tindall's side make the trip to face Coventry at St Andrew's tomorrow (7.45pm).
