JUNIOR Stanislas is unlikely to feature for Cherries against Coventry City tomorrow, boss Jason Tindall confirmed.

The winger has not played since completing 85 minutes of the opening-day win over Blackburn Rovers due to a muscle injury.

And while he is close to a return to action, Stanislas is not expected to travel to St Andrew's.

"Junior is progressing really well," Tindall told the Daily Echo.

"He’s not too far away. I don’t think I’ll risk him for this game.

"We’ve got another two weeks after the weekend so I think it will be a good time for Junior just to make sure that he’s 100 per cent, so when he comes back, he stays back. So Junior won’t be available tomorrow."

Asked if the issue was related to any of Stanislas's recent injury concerns, Tindall said: "It’s just a little muscle injury that he picked up and one that the physios are aware of. They’re working on him every day and Junior is in a really good place.

"He’s touch and go for this weekend but I think due to not really wanting to put Junior at risk, I think it’s best that we make sure that he’s fully fit after the international break."

Defender Lloyd Kelly is also closing in on a return to fitness following a hamstring injury, but is not set to feature against the Sky Blues.

Asked if he's hopeful of having Kelly available after the international break, Tindall said: "That’s the plan. Lloyd Kelly, thankfully it wasn’t too serious, which is the best case scenario for us.

"Lloydy’s progressing really well and hoping to have Lloydy back very soon."

Tindall is set to make late calls on David Brooks and Mark Travers following illness and injury respectively, with the rest of the squad who faced Norwich fit to face Coventry.
