JASON Tindall remains confident he can complete his first signing as Cherries boss "imminently".

Speaking on Tuesday, Tindall told Sky Sports he hoped to get a deal done for an "exciting" player within 24-48 hours.

Widespread reports suggest that player to be Atletico Madrid winger Rodrigo Riquelme, who is said to have been at Vitality Stadium to undergo a medical this week.

And while Tindall's initial 48-hour timeframe has now elapsed, he believes a deal should be completed for an unnamed player shortly.

"We're hoping to get one over the line very, very soon," he told the Daily Echo.

"Until that point I don't think it's right that I talk about any specific names or players that are not contracted to the football club, but we're hoping to have one over the line very, very soon."

Asked if there were any concerns about the delay in confirming the deal, Tindall added: "It's hopefully still on track.

"But it's always a long process with transfers and when trying to sign players there are so many hurdles that you've got to get over.

"But we're hoping to have one over the line imminently and I don't really see too much of a problem.

"But up until that point, I don't really want to speak about any one individual or specific players."
