THIEVES have stolen thousands of pounds worth of car parts from two Mercedes vehicles parked on a driveway in Upton.

Two individuals in motorbike helmets stole thousands of pounds worth of parts from the cars on Hibbs Close, Upton, on May 5 at around 5.30am.

This is the second time thieves have come and taken parts, with the first happening on May 1  at around 3.50am.

Nikki Turner, 33, has expressed concern it will happen again.

She said: "The first time they didn't just steal parts of my dad's car, they also stole parts off my mum's. On the white car, they stole a spoiler, a trim off the back and possibly tried to take the front grille and also took parts of my dad's bumper.

"They came back early hours the other day in broad daylight and stole my dad's exhaust. I've lived in Upton all my life and there's been nothing for so long - to feel unsafe on your own property is ridiculous."

Nikki said that both Mercedes are prized possessions of her parents, both in their mid-sixties, who bought the vehicles with inheritance money as a present to themselves.

However, Nikki has said the damage has been quoted to cost over £6,000 to fix.

She said: "The most frustrating part is the cars are bought from inheritance that mum had got when her mum passed away.

"They're not rich, my mum had a tiny bit of inheritance so she went and got them nice cars because of their age.  My dad had prices on some parts which will cost £2,000 but if the whole bumper needs replacing, he's looking at £6,000."

Nikki stated she would like to see the incidents dealt with better in the future with no quick response by police.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report that car parts had been removed and stolen from two vehicles outside an address in the Heights Road area of Upton in Poole at around 3.50am on Wednesday 1 May 2024.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
