A COMPETITION has been launched to showcase home-grown musical talent at Bournemouth 7s Festival.

The festival is debuting its Rising Sounds competition which will feature as part of this year’s event.

The Rising Sounds Takeover aims to shine a spotlight on emerging musicians from Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and surrounding areas.

Paul Ashurst, managing director of Bournemouth 7s Festival, said: "We are thrilled to introduce the Rising Sounds Takeover to this year's Bournemouth 7s Festival.

"Bournemouth boasts an abundance of undiscovered talent in our local area, and we're committed to providing a stage for these artists to shine and contribute to our vibrant local culture."

The Rising Sounds Takeover will feature performances spanning various genres, from indie and rock, to pop and rap.

The winners will get the opportunity to showcase their talent on Bournemouth 7s biggest stage, The BigTop.

Artists interested in entering the competition are encouraged to submit their applications for consideration.

In addition to showcasing talent, the Rising Sounds Takeover will offer networking opportunities.

Paul added: "We believe in the power of music and its ability to create lasting connections and experiences.

"By providing a platform for emerging artists to share their music with our festival-goers, we hope to foster a sense of community and support the next generation of musical talent."

Bournemouth 7s Festival will take place from May 24 to May 26, 2024, and will feature headliners Rudimental, Joel Corry and Wilkinson.
