COMBINING creativity, a hunger for business and leaving his children a legacy was the drive behind family portrait specialist, Alex Tredrea of Lite-box Imagery Ltd in Poole.

Alex creates stunning visual images for individuals, families, couples and businesses - taking photographs and capturing memories.

“I wanted my children to carry on the ever-growing entity that is Lite-box Imagery," said Alex.

"I wanted my children to look up to me not just as a dad but a great businessman that left them something to take to the next level."

“Many of our customers come back to us time after time, so you get to form some truly great relationships. I love being in business, coming up with new ideas and new ways to market to our audiences. I work best under pressure and with the help of my great hard-working team, we all welcome a challenge.”

When the pandemic hit, Alex closed the doors however after serious number crunching, using savings and applying for grants, the anxiety began to ease.

And as lockdown eased, virtual team meetings pushed forward plans to help future-proof the business including raffles, treasure hunts, competitions and bespoke packages with finance payment plans. And the creation of an online shop is giving people inspirations for that all important gift.

Alex said: “As I could see very early on in April, we were going to have to pretty much write off 2020. Like everyone else, we don’t have a magic ball to see what the future holds.

“But assessing the current Covid situation on a daily and weekly basis, it gives us time to prioritise. The lockdown gave me time to think about what I need to change in my life. I think it would be wrong for everyone to go back to normal without taking something from this lockdown to change for the future.

“For me it finding a balance. I burn the candle at the other end sometimes, and work up to 15 hours a day, which didn’t leave me much time to myself nor was it a realistic way to work. Since being back I’m trying to make a true balance of work, kids and downtime.”
