POOLE'S Twin Sails Bridge looks as though you could drive across iyesterday – but there is no sign of it being fixed yet.
The bridge – which has been left in the “up” position since its latest technical problems began in August – was lowered because of high winds.
BCP Council said: “It will be lifted again when the weather improves. The bridge remains closed until repairs are carried out later this autumn.”
The council said previously that the bridge would be left upright to enable boats to use the channel, but would be lowered in strong winds.
The council originally said the bridge would be open by autumn but has since revised this to “late autumn”.
It has said parts have been ordered and are being specially manufactured where necessary – and that it is “acutely aware” of local frustration.
